My Inner Child

Today, I wish I could tell you my story

But I feel it’s not time yet

I however must leave you with a bit of who I am

Which is authentically a compilation of who I was and what I have become.

A child. Yet so mature.

That is who I used to be.

And then not anymore

I moved on to being a grown up.

Forced by circumstance

So much that I forgot how to be a child.

I missed her,

She who could smile without a single worry

She who could laugh to a joke.

A child that dreamt of fairy tales;

And loved telling them.

Recently thought…

Something happened.

And things started changing,

I knew I could find that child again.

I started believing it. With conviction.

So I started looking

And I did find her.

Hidden away, but still alive.

So now I’ve on to a whole new phase.

A grown up.

Mature.

But a child at the core.

So don’t kill your inner child.

I nurture mine.

I feed mine.

I let her fascinate me.

So be grown. Be mature. Be all those strong things. It’s beautiful.

But be a child at the core.

It will make your life beautiful ✨
